　紫色ガラスに白色ガラスを巻き込んだ筒状のガラス棒を作り、切って断面の渦が見えるように置き合わせたミルフィオリガラスを種とし、それを吹き竿で吹いて成形されている。口辺は外に開き、鶴首の中央付近で狭まり、腰部から膨らんでいる。マーブルガラスの小瓶は多いが、このようにミルフィオリガラスを種とするものは珍しい。香油など、化粧品を入れたものであろう。

This jar was made from a purple glass tubular cylinder wrapped in white glass, which was then arrayed so that the swirls of the cut cross sections were visible. This is a type of millefiori glass which was blown on a glassblowing tube to create a jar form. The mouth rim turns outward, and the long thin neck is constricted near its center before swelling into the full hip area of the jar. There are many small marble glass jars extant, but this type of millefiori glass jar is rare. This was probably used to contain either perfumed oil or cosmetics.
