両手付小瓶

底まで2分割の型に、赤紫色のガラスを吹き込んで成形した瓶である。把手は緑がかった透明なガラスで、頚から肩へと付いている。ワインなどを運ぶ巨大な陶器のアンフォラの形を、ガラスで真似たものであろう。香油瓶などに使われたと思われる。

This bottle was blown from reddish purple glass and molded in a two-part mold down to the base. The handles are greenish translucent glass and are attached at the neck and the shoulders. This appears to be a glass copy of the giant amphora shaped ceramic vessels used to carry wine and other liquids. This bottle is thought to have been used to contain perfumed oils.
