Figurine of a Soldier

This silver figurine depicts a nude Greek-style warrior who grasps an oval shield with his left hand and would have held a now-missing spear in his right hand. A sash which extends from his left shoulder to the side of his right hip is decorated with a gilt pattern incised with plant motifs. This figure is freestanding and is superbly rendered down to such details as the arches of his feet and his toenails.
