 この瘤牛の像は頭部に鍍金が残っているが、その両脇に角が小さな隆起で表されている。顔面に丸い円文を刻んで眼を表している。鍍金の状況から、かつてこれは作品57の獅子小像と同様、全身が金箔で覆われていたものと考えられる。

This figure of a zebu has traces of gilding on its head, and small horns protruding from either side of that gilding. The face is incised with round eyes. Judging from the state of the gilding, this figure is thought to have originally been completely covered with gold leaf, as seen on the lion at cat. No. 57.
