Spring Exhibition Opens Using Advance Reservation System

Closed: Mondays (or next business day if Monday is a national holiday)
Hours: 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (last entry 3:00 p.m.)

The Museum adopts the following precautions against the spread of coronavirus infection based on guidelines issued by the Japan Association of Museums. We apologize for the inconvenience to visitors but ask your kind understanding and cooperation.

To Our Visitors

Please be sure to read the following instructions before planning your visit.

Online Advance Reservations
In order to avoid crowded conditions in the museum, we are introducing the advance reservation system. All visitors, including those eligible to enter without charge (Miho Museum Members and recipients of free tickets), need to arrange in advance to obtain a date- and time-specific voucher by filling out the form online. Paying visitors will be asked to pay online for their tickets together with their reservation.

Please note: Sales and/or reservation will begin every Tuesday for visits of seven days from following Tuesday.

For those who have difficulty with online reservations
If you find it difficult to handle the online reservation system, it is fine to ask a fellow visitor or family member to make the reservation on your behalf. Each person may purchase up to five tickets along with date- and time-specific reservation vouchers or up to five date- and time-specific reservation vouchers.

Temperature checks
All visitors must undergo a body temperature check before entering the museum. Visitors who show a temperature of 37.5 ˚C (99.5˚F) or over will not be admitted. In the case of a group, the entire group will be unable to enter.

Masks
Please wear a mask when entering the museum and throughout your visit.

Other requests
• Please refrain from visiting the museum if you have a fever, cough, sore throat or headache
• Please refrain from visiting the museum if, within the past two weeks, you have visited a country or region where the coronavirus is spreading.
• Please distance yourself from other visitors by at least 1 to 2 meters.
• Please cooperate with our efforts to avoid transmitting infection by washing your hands carefully and using the sanitizer provided.
• In the galleries, please refrain from talking as much as possible.
• Do not touch the works, display cases, equipment, and walls.

Changes in Operations

As measures against the spread of the coronavirus, the Miho Museum will change its operations as follows.
We thank you for your cooperation and goodwill.

Shortened hours
10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (last entry 3:00 p.m.)

Discounts suspended
In order to facilitate the museum management during this period, the various discounts that were provided will be temporarily suspended.

Restaurant and tea room service curtailed
The Peach Valley restaurant and Pine View tea room will be open, but service will be curtailed, with fewer tables available and fewer items on the menu.

Free Electric Shuttle service curtailed
In order to assure proper social distancing on the shuttles, priority will be given to persons who have difficulty walking. We hope visitors will walk the 500 meters to the museum whenever possible.

Other
• The number of museum shops open will be curtailed.
• No special events are planned in the museum until further notice.
• The video room will be closed.

Museum Precautions

• The number of visitors to the museum will be limited using the advance reservation system.
• Visitor temperature check prior to entrance.
• Signage to provide information on precautions.
• Hand sanitizer placed at various places.
• Extra distancing and rearrangement of seats and tables for visitor use.
• Regular and thorough sanitizing, cleaning, and ventilation of the museum galleries.
• Temperature and health checks will be conducted regularly for all staff and other persons connected with the museum, and they will practice strict hand-washing and sanitizing rules.
• Staff will wear masks, and in some cases use face shields and wear latex gloves.

Any case of COVID-19 discovered in the museum will be reported at the Miho Museum website (https://www.miho.jp). We ask that all visitors record their visiting date and time.
