唐銅乙御前風炉（大西浄清作）

　現在は五月から十月の夏～秋にかけて用いられる。乙御前はお多福の異名。姥口の平釜、布団釜に似た形状の釜を乙御前釜と呼ぶが、この風炉の名称も同義である。鐶付の鬼面は獅子頭様で突き出しが強い。

Today such portable braziers are used in the tea ceremony from May through October. The term "Otogoze" is an alternate name for the famous Japanese fat‐faced goddess, Otafuku. The flat, hag‐mouth kettle, or futon kettle shapes can also be called "Otogoze" kettles, with the same reference as the name here. The demon masks on the handle holes protrude like strong, lion dance masks.
