 金線を巻いた鉄の棒の末端にライオンの頭部をつけて貼金した儀器である。これは本来バルサムと呼ばれる儀式に使う棒であったと考えられ、真っ直ぐな棒状であったものが、何らかの誤解により曲げられたものであろう。

This ritual implement has the tip of its gold wire-wrapped iron rod fitted with a lion's head in sheet gold. This is thought to have been originally a ritual implement rod known as a barsom, and the straight, rod-shaped form has been somehow mistakenly curved into its present form.
